If you’re like me, you would do anything to have good hair. I’ve tried all types of shampoos and conditioners as well as all the popular hair appliances. Well, a while back I watched parts of an infomercial advertising the new Instyler Rotating Hair Iron. The Instyler looked like an amazing machine and the results they were able to achieve on the show were remarkable! I decided that it was time for me to check it out.

The main question that I wanted to answer was, Does the Instyler hair iron really work? Well, I’ve got to tell you that the Instyler works great!!! In general, I don’t really trust “as seen on tv” products very much but now I know that some of them do work great. In fact, I have lots of friends who have also had amazing results from the Instyler. By the way, you should know that I don’t usually get so excited about hair care products but this one has changed my life.
Now, I know some of you might be thinking that the infomercial show seemed to make some remarkable claims. And you’re probably also wondering, “does the Instyler work well in real life also?”

I’m telling you, the Instyler can do it all! When it comes to straightening your hair (including straightening roots), I’ve never seen anything that works like the Instyler. The Instyler works on ethnic hair too! One of my African American friends told me that she gets the same results with her Instyler as well. Another friend of mine who was blessed with naturally straight hair (don’t be jealous girls) uses the Instyler to style her bangs and to flip it in or flip it out depending on her mood when she wakes up each day. Of course it can also create body and volume in just a few minutes.
I know that there are so many women out there that hope and pray that this product really can do all that it promises. And I know that every time you watch the infomercial you wonder if it’s possible that one product can make your hair look so amazing? Well, take my advice, now is the right time to stop wondering and go find out for yourself. That’s because the people over at Instyler are offering a special limited time offer that allows you to get a 30-Day No Risk trial of the Instyler for only $14.99.

For only $14.99, you owe it to yourself to see how well the Instyler Rotating Hair Iron can work for you.

Hi Everyone!
I am an African American woman of Nigerian decent. My hair shoulder length and thick and relaxed. I received the instyler ripped open the box and used it for about 10 minutes and my hair looks like how it would had I blown it out and then flat ironed and then curled under for a bump. In my opinion IT WORKS GREAT. I don’t understand why ppl are shocked about the fees I ordered online and it was plain as day! I suggest selling your second one to a friend because after all costs its about 70 each since they offer you two. The key is the brush because your getting a blow out and flat iron at the same time without both process.
Also for African American women for deep conditioning and shine. Use Raw shea butter. Rub it in with your conditioner and sit under a dryer for 15 minutes and wash out completely. I have coarse thick hair and I have never found anything that shines and grows my hair like raw shea butter and its dirt cheap.
Love my Instyler! Are you lovin yours too?
Ordering the InStyler with my cousin!! Goodbye flat, straight, boring, damaged hair and hello soft, sleek, sexy, touchable hair!!
JUST GOT AN INSTYLER… LOVE IT!
I got my InStyler last week and I really like it. My CHI flat iron didn’t do as good of job as the InStyler. My results with flat irons is that it made my ends “look crunchy” is the way I describe it. I need to work more with it on my bangs, I have never had good luck with my bangs anyways. I like that I can do soft curls on my hair, I have never been able to do it without looking like Shirley Temple. Plus I have no body to my hair what so ever, and it is pretty fine. I really like what the InStyler has done so far. I give it an A+.
I also bought the Instyler and I love it. I bought it on eBay.com and got a really good price.
I purchased the instyler for my daughter’s hair. My daughter has relaxed hair. I blow dryed her hair and then used the instyler. Wow–it gave her a beautiful shine and then I bumped the ends. It looks like I took her to a salon.
The flat irons I purchased in the past burned her ends and made her hair brittle. This product leaves her with shiny beautiful hair with a bump on the ends–no more damage to her ends. I love it!
I love the Instyler. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks. What type of conditioner and/or gel products is best to keep the hair shiny? Any suggestions? Thanks.
A good post on a good blog, this will certainly help my buying decision for a hair straightener.
The Instyler is the BEST tool EVER! After washing & drying my hair, and with absolutely NO hair product applied, the Instyler tames my frizzy mop to smooth, shiny hair that moves in the breeze! I shudder at all the $$$ I wasted over the year on hair creams, gels, oils, you name it, to tame my frizzy hair. There’s just one thing to be CAREFUL of: Keep the Instyler AWAY from your forehead when doing your bangs!!! I have 3 small burn marks from the rotating barrel. Now I fold up a bandanna and put it right on my forehead before working my bangs. Other than that, I wish I had this tool in high school!
Just received the InStyler which I bought for my daughter. I have one comment of praise and one of caution. First, it works great in straightening the hair. My teen daughter loves the outcome. My only words of caution is that IT IS HOT!! The rotating roller heats up to over 300 degrees with NO external protective measures for the face, ears or hands. Please be extremely careful if you have small children at home, and during your personal use. Otherwise, it is a wonderful product. For those who do not have such good results, maybe try using smaller quantities of hair and moving the unit a bit slower while straightening. Good luck and use with caution!
So hard to believe so many varying results. I LOVE this thing. What is most amazing to me is that I have relaxed hair. I haven’t had a touch up in over 3 months and went to the hair dresser to get color and she made a comment after washing my hair that I should have gotten a touch up because I had so much new growth. In the past when this has happened and she has then went on to flat iron my hair the hair, the new growth would be very difficult to straighten and of course would still be pretty wavy and not sit right. WELL, this time (and I think she was somewhat perlexed) she flat ironed it and it was like I had just received a relaxer! The hair at the scalp is so straight and smooth! I may never get another relaxer again.
I do have a question for everyone, have you noticed that the Instyler is changing the grade of your hair? I mean in a good way. I am African American and although I have always had pretty nice hair this thing makes my hair look like someone who is Asian. Hopefully that is not offensive to anyone, I have just always admired how beautiful Asian women’s hair is, very straight, shiny and healthy looking. So anyone else notice this happening?
I LOVE MY INSTYLER! This thing is a godsend for me. I have thick, frizzy hair and it is the only tool that works. I’ve owned MANY flat irons and nothing works like this.
I ordered mine on a Saturday night and it was in my mailbox on the Tuesday morning! And I live in Canada!!
I love it and highly recommend it to anyone sick of spending hours smoothing out their hair.
My hair is very long (down to my waist) is color treated, baby fine but very think and frizzy/curly. The instyler is WONDERFUL!!! It just takes some time getting used to. I was used to having a tip of a curling iron to hold on too and you can’t do that with this, it’s a one hand deal, but the results are totally awesome! I get get great sleek shiney hair or big loose curls. Try it ladies, you’ll love it!
At first, I was a little scared to buy the Instyler after reading some of the negative reviews. But then was encouraged again when I read Ms. Davis’ comments (very sensible, I think – no matter what the heat styling tool you should probably use some form of heat protector first, which is what I intend to do!). Also, when I read Brenda’s experience of curling irons giving her “crunchy” ends (same thing happens to me – very annoying) I decided to bite the bullet and try it out. I ordered mine yesterday and am looking forward to trying it out. Will definitely let you all know how it goes! (P.S. Thanks much for your comments)
I LOVE MY INSTYLER!!!!! Every girl in my family has different hair and it really does work on all of us!!! I love this product!!! I have thin long black hair and it gives it soooo much body!! I can straighten, curl, or just give my hair body with ease!!!
Got the Instyler yesterday, tried it right away band love it. It works a lot like a flat iron but the curling iron barrel is cool cuz you can flip the ends, and it works pretty good. It actually takes a little longer than my flat iron but that’s ok for me! I have thick (real thick) hair and it really flattens its out. I just added it to my collection!
I got my instyler today and I think it works wonderful. I used a heat protectant to keep it from ruining my hair and then I put so root lifter and it looks like I just left the salon. You have to move slowly down the hair, I just did a once over and it look amazing!! Definately would recommend for woman with very thin fine hair.
I was looking for a site to see if instyler was all it was cracked up to be before i purchase it. i am black, and have very thick and frizzy hair like most of you, i’m gonna order the instyler and let you guys know how well it worked for me. just to let you get a sense of how unrully my hair is, when i wash it, even after a relaxer, its a poofy hot mess!!!! i then try to blow dry it straight, still a thick puffball, i am lightskinned, i should have better hair than this!!! i have every flat iron imiginable, they worked when i first got them but now they burn and crisp my ends and hair, i was frustrated til i saw the informercial on the instyler, so when i get it and try it i will post picks of before and after, this should clear up confussion of if it works on difficult african american hair as it says it does!!!!! i can’t wait!!!! wish me luck!!!!
I bought the Instyler and tried it today. My hair is at my shoulder-blades, is curly, thick and has some coarseness to it. Normally with my blow-dryer and boar-bristle brush it takes me 45mins to an hour to dry straight.
With the Instyler I found that it did some of what it claims it will do. It does straighten and right from the roots but here are the cons. My ends did not come come out looking sleek as they claim but instead came out looking feeling frizzy. It took me just as much time as with my blowdryer because it does not take one pass, it actually takes several and overall my hair looked dry. Yes I did use a thermal protector before using the instyler.
But I have always used the philosophy of trying something at least twice before making a decision. So before throwing it out, I am willing to give it another try and see if the results will be any different. I will report on that session.
Got the Instyler about two weeks ago and it doesnt staighten well!!! My flatiron does a waaaay better job. Tried returning it like 3x already but they keep saying that I need to get used to it…so still trying with no good results yet. The humidity makes it waaay worse! I am indian and have hair about halfway down my back that is wavy, it shouldn’t be this hard. I’ve honesty given it a good try. I doesn’t get it straight..just straighter than what it was. LOL. The minute i step out my front door in the humidity my hair takes on different directions. I’m going back to my $50 flatiron. Its a bit longer but it does the job well for ALOT longer. Sorry Instyler, I really wanted to believe in you.
i love the instyler im glad i bought it off ebay bran new n 4 only 75! it works like 98.9 percent betta than sum lame flat iron
I just got me Instyler and I like it. It does polish your hair and it removed the frizzy in my hair. But it is a little hard to use overall it is worth it.
I have VERY fine, long, wavey hair. My problem with the instyler is that my hair falls through it even when I hold all the way down. I just spent a half hour with the instyler to get one side of my hair to be poofy, then I took out my flat iron and did the other side perfectly in five. I may be sticking with my flat iron.
Does anyone here have hair extensions? I used to use the Revo-Styler (I believe same company made it) with my extensions with great results, but it just broke and now I’m considering the In-Styler.
Will it work on short, think hair? I have been thinking about getting it to see if it will give me some volume. Has anyone tried it on short hair?
I have been interested in The Instyler for quite some time now. I have heard good reviews as well as bad reviews. I am confused whether to buy this product or not. I have wavy, and somewhat straight, dry, medium length hair, that doesn’t hold a curl very well, or at all. I like my hair crimped and I was wondering if this product crimps hair.
Please write back if you have hair like mine or similar to my hair. Tell me how it works for you and if you think I should buy this product. This product looks great but I have seen some reviews that make me think twice about buying it. $15.00 seems like a great price for this, but if it’s this cheap I was also thinking that maybe it’s not a reliable product.
Thanks so much! =)
Omg from all the good review im reading im starting to think you guys got paid. . . I just ordered my instyler and im SOOOO excited!! i have very coarse, thick, kinky hair and my flat iron makes it still and gives me NO MOVEMENT so im excited for the movement that is promised. it also takes me 1 hour to straighten my hair and it only lasts about a couple of hours until it gets frizzy. . . NOT FUN. im sooooo excited and i will post again when i get it, bye and thanks to all who post
Gracie
oh yeah and i got the quick thingy so its supposed to come in 10 days
well, i realy don’t know if i should get this or not. so far from all of the comments left above, i’ve counted 41 positive comments, 11 negative, and 5 in the middle/either way.
you see, i have red hair; my aunt has extremely poofy and curly hair.. and my hair is similar to her’s but not to her extreme. when i use my flat iron, my hair doesn’t always get completely straight, most of the time it’s relatively straight but still has waves and one side of my hair will flip a certain way and the other side doesn’t do anything i want it to. it’s really annoying especially when you’ve gotta go somewhere and your hair is a total reck and doesn’t look a thing like you want it to look like.
i play bass guitar and i go for a rocker look. i do crazy stuff to my hair but have never dyed it. sometimes when i run out of crazy ideas to do with my hair, i just would like it to be straight. so is this a good tool to get or not?

~beth~
I think it’s fair to say that this blog is a paid advertisement by Instyler.
This product seems like a waste of money. $14.99 would have been a deal for this, but not for a 30 day trial! Why would I pay almost $200 for a cheap looking product that many claim does not work at all like advertised?
Let us read the small print, actually, that is found at the bottom of your webpage, perhaps? Oh, look at this here: “Note: This site may earn commissions from sales that generate from links to the products reviewed.”.
I think that says it all.
I have blonde, processed hair that is kind of fine. It tends to be on the dry side because of coloring and using heat to style it. Do you think the Instyler will be too harsh on my hair? Flat irons I’ve used in the past really dry it out because I have to use more heat to get the smooth look. Thanks….
Lori
I just got my in styler and love it. It makes my hair feel like I was at the salon such a great tool
yea it looks great!! but your hair still looks a frizzy and i want my hair to be straight and silky and smooth that didnt look smooth or silky
I’m just wondering how your hair is when you chose not to straighten it. I am african american with hair that is super curly– cork screws, that I love. However, sometimes I just want to change it up. I had it flat ironed recently, and it was bone straight! I loved it. But when I was ready to wear it back in its curly state I found that huge sections would not curl back. It’s been weeks and my hair isn’t back to what it used to be. I would love to try the Instyler, but I want to make sure that my hair can return to the curls if I so chose… anyone have any light to shed on this subject?
This product works; it won’t crush your hair meaning no frizzy hair. Your hair will look beautiful and all, but this hair straightener leaves a burning smell in your hair and it’s not that fast either, maybe a little faster than a regular hair straightener. It also leaves some of your hair in the bristle brushes. I liked the way it worked except leaving a burning smell in my hair. I never expected that and I only used it only once. I own this product only a week.
I ordered by Instylers for my daughters and myself, and here it is three weeks later and we still have not received them. I paid for the “express shipping”, which I thought would have sped things up some. We are all so excited about getting and trying it out, that we are impatient, which is why I paid for the express shipping. How long is it taking for others to get theres? I am starting to get concerned. Maybe we are just being too anxious.
Yeah, I don’t get the mixed reviews. I love my InStyler. I really can’t imagine a product doing more.
And to Lulu above, yes, the beauty of the product is that it seems to prevent damage. I see from your comment that the product you used last might have burned you hair. You wouldn’t have that problem with the InStyler.
I bought an Instyler and IT IS AMAZING!!!!
I have frizzy damaged fine hair and on the lowest setting it took me 5 minutes to do my entire head with a result that looked as good as a salon blowout. I suck at blowdrying and straightening irons make my hair to fake-flat. But the Instyler polished it and gave me an amazing shiny flip on the ends. I just can’t get over how great it works — just like the infomercial.
will be purchasing mine soon….can’t wait to see the results….will keep you posted.
The InStyler didn’t work for mine and my daughter’s hair. Maybe it only works for longer length hair and not medium lengths. The hair also gets caught around the moving barrel. We didn’t like it.
Ok, Im very confused- I am thinking about purchasing the InStyler, but im getting Mixed Reviews! any tips or comments….. help?!
i love the instyler. i have never try anything like it. i also though there was nothing like it.
i love my instyler i definitely recomend girls to use this product it works like a charm.
OMG1 love it
I am waiting upon the arrival of my Instyler. I have HORRIBLE hair. It’s coarse, thick, kinky hair and I hate it. It seems just as soon as I get outside it’s a fro and I am white, so it’s a little weird. I have the Maxiglide and it works pretty good but it just takes forever to do my hair, however it was worth the money. I am just looking for something quicker. So if this product doesn’t work for you I would try the Maxiglide. It is great.
But I am still excited to get something that can curl and straighten. =)
I am SO gonna buy it! ya know being a puerto rican,Black, mexican,Cherokee, and blackfoot indian, you wouldn’t expect me to have the wild hair i do now. lol
SOO I just got the instyler.. I was very skeptical at first but I have been proved wrong! I am of black and east indian ethnicity so my hair is very curly and doesn’t like to be straightened. I have been through a number of products that even though they work have fried, and broke my hair..
I only put it through twice and my hair is straight! Like as straight as they do in the salon after hours and hours.. I used a good size piece of hair and to my surprise my hair wasn’t fried at all. It was easy to get to the roots and do my hair just the way i like it.. Straight but not stringy.. with lots of life!! Thanks Instyler..
I hope this helps those of you with natural hair who aren’t sure if it works..
Hi! I’ve watched the infomercial on the Instyler, and it seemed to work great. I’m just skeptical if it could really work on my hair without problems. My hair is thick, curly, and long and I usually flat iron it. But my ends have become really dry, and I’m tired of having to use hair product after hair product to make it less frizzy. Does anyone know if it will work on my hair type? Thanks so much!
i had the instyler for about 3 weeks. And it doesnt work for. my hair is really frizzy wavy and thick. and it still doesnt work
