I have wanted to buy the instyler for quite some time but, with 4 children, I just couldn't see spending the $ on it. I finally bought it about a week ago w/my $50 BBB giftcard I got for Christmas from my husband and a 20% off coupon. As w/everything, I did my research and watched youtube videos and I figured if I didn't like it, I would just return it. Well, I love it!! I typically end up just putting my long hair in a ponytail or a bun. Not anymore! I am very picky about my hair. I typically don't blow-dry or curl it, in hopes of not damaging it.
I am 38 and have been cursed w/gray since I was about 23. I have several friends that are hairstylists but, I didn't ask them for their opinon out of fear of being talked out of buying it.
I used the instyler on my freshly washed hair, towel dried, and my normal hair products. In addition, I put heat activated protectant and a shine/smooth enhancer.
I think the key is simply taking your time (I think I will get faster the more I use it). It still took less than 30 mins my first time using it. I loved the way my hair looked and felt. I didn't smell burning hair like I always do using a flat iron or curling iron.
My 13 and 14 y/o daughters also loved it! My 13 y/o now wants one for her birthday (which my husband thanked me for, LOL)!
I am very happy with my purchase. I think some people are expecting for have spectaculer results in 10 mins. Take your time the first few times you use it and use smaller sections of hair and you'll be happy with the result.

I just received my Instyler this week and used yesterday for the first time and at first was dissappointed because I though it was dragging my hair, duh I was using it the wrong way, once I figured that out I straightened my hair last night with it and wrapped it and tied it up, this morning I added curly bounce and volume to it and it look like I had been to the salon. After using it twice I am in love with it. Of course it gets very hot and you do have to be very careful with it but other than that I would recommend it. I am african american and yes it does work very well on our hair type

I just received the two in stylers and gave one to my friend. We went half and half. I am a little disappointed in the product. I have thin fine hair as mine looks like the people on the website videos. I can not get it to work on my hair to save my life. For $90 a piece with s&H and etc.. I would think it would work. I have tried to do my hair dry with nothing in it and it will not hold a curl or flip. I have tried to use it on my hair while towl dried with a little mouse and hair spray. That makes my hair friz and the flip just falls out, when I do it inside flip and an outside flip. I am so aggravated, my friends works on her hair. Mine, I have tried low-high heat and nothing. Now I am stuck with mine because if I were to return mine she would have to return hers.I dont think this offer was so good now I think about. Who can use two instylers. In my case you give it to someone or go half and I am stuck with a $90 lose because my hair won't work with it. What to do??Anyone want to but it off me :)..

i love the instyler but the price was very misleading. i came to find out my first payment was going to be $75 not the 39.99 they post on their site due to shipping and handling and processing fees. make sure you ask everything before ordering. i was very disappointed on the scam i will never order anything online again from them

I think that Instyler needs to be a bit more forthcoming on the price of this item. The TV ad says $14.99 but does not disclose the 3 additional payments of near $40/month if you keep it beyond the 30 days.

I was quite thrilled to see this product on tv after many years of dealing with extremely curly hair that turns to frizz on humid days. I did find it very easy to use however, my hair is also very fine and damaged by many years of covering grey and taking a variety of medications. After using the instyler my hair was not as smooth looking as on TV and it was very fly-away. I am going to return the product.

I suspect you won't post negative comments about the product but thought I'd try.
